Changing interrogative sentence into passive voice

Rule no 1

The primary auxiliary verbs do, does or did does not appear in the passive form. They change into suitable verb to be such as: is, are, was, were etc.

Rule no 2

The verbs have, has, had, will, shall, can, may etc., do not change their position at the beginning of the sentence when the active voice is changed to the passive voice.

Rule no 3

The question words when, why, where, how or what does not change their position at the beginning of the sentence when the active voice is changed into the passive voice. Note that who changes to by whom and whom into who.

Examples:

1. Did no one help you? (active voice)

Were you not helped? (passive voice)

2. Do you like such films? (active voice)

Are such films liked by you? (passive voice)

3. Does she teach you music? (active voice)

Are you taught music by her? (passive voice)

4. Was he watching T.V? (active voice)

Was T.V being watched by him? (passive voice)

5. Was a cobbler repairing the shoes? (active voice)

Were the shoes being repaired by a cobbler? (passive voice)

6. What do you want? (active voice)

What is wanted by you? (passive voice)

7. Where did you find my hat? (active voice)

Where was my pen found by you? (passive voice)

8. Who painted the walls? (active voice)

By whom were the walls painted? (passive voice)

9. Have you invited them? (active voice)

Have they been invited by you? (passive voice)

10. Has the child bought the toy? (active voice)

Has the toy been bought by the child? (passive voice)

11. Had Hassan flown the kite? (active voice)

Had the kite been flown by Hassan? (passive voice)

12. Will he give the money? (active voice)

Will the money be given by him? (passive voice)

13. Shall I drink milk? (active voice)

Shall milk be drunk by me? (passive voice)

14. Can he drive a Car? (active voice)

Can a car be driven by him? (passive voice)

15. May she eat an apple? (active voice)

May an apple be eaten by her? (passive voice)

16. Might she kill the snake? (active voice)

Might the snake be killed by her? (passive voice)

17. Should I buy this hat? (active voice)

Should this hat be bought by me? (passive voice)
